Decarbonization in Action × Smart Cold Chain|GreenValue Shares Practical Pathways from Construction to Net Zero
GreenValue was invited to participate in the “Decarbonization Site Visit: Advancing Toward Net Zero” series hosted by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). Representing the company, Engineering Department Manager Huang, Pei-Xian delivered a keynote presentation titled “From Construction to Net Zero: Smart Energy-Saving and Decarbonization Case Studies,” showcasing how GreenValue translates sustainability concepts into real-world cold chain engineering outcomes.
▲The Decarbonization Site Visit concluded successfully, with GreenValue, ITRI, and participating enterprise representatives gathering for a group photo at the Fong An Logistics Center in Taoyuan.
▲The venue was filled to capacity as GreenValue Engineering Manager Huang, Pei-Xian presented “From Construction to Net Zero,” fostering cross-sector dialogue on smart cold chain and decarbonization.
From Cold Chain Construction to Energy-Saving Implementation
Founded in 2008, GreenValue specializes in refrigeration and HVAC system design, engineering construction, and energy optimization services. With long-standing expertise in pharmaceutical and food logistics, the company played a critical role during the COVID-19 pandemic by supporting government agencies and enterprises in the rapid deployment of medical-grade vaccine cold storage facilities and logistics centers—accumulating extensive hands-on experience in cold chain engineering.
The presentation centered on the Fong An Logistics Center in Taoyuan as a flagship case study, illustrating how GreenValue integrates AI-powered smart defrosting, condensate water recovery, PIR high-performance insulated panels, renewable energy management, and time-of-use electricity pricing strategies into a unified, energy-efficient cold chain system.
Smart Energy Systems and Measurable Decarbonization Results
- AI Image-Recognition Defrosting Technology
Defrosting is automatically triggered when frost coverage on the evaporator reaches 70%, ensuring precise control of defrost cycles, reducing unnecessary energy consumption, and extending equipment lifespan. - Defrost Condensate Recovery and Reuse
Recovered condensate water is reused in cooling towers and irrigation systems, delivering up to 80% monthly electricity cost savings while achieving both energy and water efficiency. - PIR High-Performance Insulated Panels
Compared to conventional panels, PIR panels provide four times higher insulation efficiency. Even during power outages, the facility can maintain stable temperatures between 3°C and 7°C for up to 12 hours. - Three-Tier Time-of-Use Power Optimization
By integrating solar generation with off-peak energy storage, the system automatically shifts electrical loads between peak and off-peak periods to maximize overall energy efficiency.
- Energy Monitoring and Cloud-Based Management
The site is equipped with 45 temperature and humidity sensors, integrated with SCADA systems, mobile app alerts, and trend analytics to enable real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.
▲Participants toured the Fong An Logistics Center on site, gaining firsthand insight into the application of cold chain monitoring systems and renewable energy management dashboards.
Setting a New Benchmark for Net-Zero Cold Chain Facilities
Beyond reducing operating costs and carbon emissions, GreenValue leverages data-driven monitoring and intelligent energy logic to create scalable, replicable low-carbon warehouse models. The event drew strong engagement from industry professionals and technical experts, sparking in-depth discussions on how energy-intensive industries can progress toward net zero through a dual strategy of digital intelligence and sustainability.
Looking ahead, GreenValue will continue to deepen its capabilities in AIoT, energy storage integration, and advanced energy management, driving the cold chain industry toward a future that is smarter, more energy-efficient, and truly sustainable.
