Pioneering a Greener Cold Chain|Yangmei Logistics Center – Success Capital Company Limited Taiwan Branch x GreenValue
In today’s twin push toward energy transition and upgraded cold-chain logistics, the Yangmei Logistics Center – Success Capital Company Limited Taiwan Branch has teamed up with GreenValue to build a next-generation, energy-efficient warehouse. By weaving together AI-powered smart defrosting, chilled-water heat recovery, off-peak energy storage, and rooftop solar generation, the facility sets a new benchmark for sustainable refrigeration and logistics infrastructure. Its achievements were spotlighted in 三立電視《台灣新思路》, which praised the project’s forward-thinking approach to smart cold chains and green warehousing.

Cutting Energy Use by One-Third
Precision temperature control is non-negotiable in cold-chain logistics, with storage zones spanning from +18 °C down to –25 °C.
According to Taiwan’s Energy Administration, conventional cold-chain warehouses now average 227.54 kWh /m²-year. By contrast, the Yangmei facility operates at just 130–150 kWh /m²-year—an improvement of roughly 33 %, translating to annual electricity savings of over NT$12 million.
Five Core Technologies Driving a Smarter Warehouse
AI Image-Recognition Defrosting
Computer vision continuously monitors frost on heat-exchanger fins and triggers defrost cycles only when truly necessary. The model self-learns, adjusting to changes in load and temperature to prevent wasted energy and reduce equipment wear.
Chilled-Water Heat Recovery
Meltwater generated during defrosting is captured via concealed piping and reused in the office HVAC loop, maintaining indoor spaces at a comfortable ~20 °C while turning waste heat into useful cooling.
Rooftop Solar Photovoltaics
Solar panels installed on the warehouse roof supply self-generated green power during daytime peaks, reducing grid dependence and cutting carbon emissions.
Off-Peak Energy Storage
The system stores lower-cost electricity at night and discharges it during daytime demand peaks, leveraging time-of-use tariffs to shave several million NT dollars from annual power bills.
Dual Diesel Backup Generators
Redundant generators safeguard refrigeration loads in the event of a power outage, ensuring uninterrupted 24/7 operation and protecting temperature-sensitive goods.
Post Pandemic Era|From Vaccine Vaults to Industry Upgrade
During the COVID-19 crisis, GreenValue rapidly deployed multiple medical-grade vaccine freezers — experience that directly informs the Yangmei Logistics Center today. One such facility stored more than 40 million vaccine doses over three years, serving as Taiwan’s first stop for incoming shipments.
From those early 3–5-ping rooms to today’s large-scale smart cold-chain hubs, GreenValue continues to deliver on its promise of “Energy-Efficient, Reliable, Sustainable” solutions through deep HVAC expertise, AI integration, and holistic system optimization.
GreenValue is proud to partner with the Yangmei Logistics Center — Success Capital Company Limited Taiwan Branch in steering the cold-chain industry toward a smarter, cleaner future—one warehouse, one watt, and one breakthrough at a time.
