Spreading Love and Smiles｜Down Syndrome Foundation Family Spring Outing
After a long-awaited break, the Family Spring Outing organized by the Down Syndrome Foundation brought together many children with Down syndrome and their parents to fulfill a heartfelt dream—witnessing the wonders of the underwater world up close.
The event, part of the foundation’s 2024 first-half family program, invited over a hundred families of individuals with disabilities to embark on an inspiring exploration at Xpark Aquarium in Taoyuan. From the moment the buses set off, the children’s radiant smiles and the warm interactions among parents and volunteers filled the journey with joy and meaning. Social workers shared that for many children with special needs, outdoor trips are rare and often challenging. This outing offered families a precious opportunity to step out together, safely and joyfully, to discover the beauty and wonder beneath the sea.

As a leading urban aquarium, Xpark is renowned for its thoughtful lighting, design, and viewing arrangements that allow visitors of all ages to experience marine life from different perspectives. From playful penguins and colorful coral reefs to the awe-inspiring deep-sea tunnel, children were able to marvel at the diversity of ocean life while parents shared in their excitement and delight.
